Two kindly hearted men were walking one morning on a beach. The beach had a disheveled look, there had been a heavy storm that had blown directly into that bay the night before. After walking for a while the first man noticed a shallow pool of water that had been formed by the previous nights storm. In it were about a hundred fish that were floundering in the dwindling amount of water. Shocked, the man decided there and then that he would go and study how such a thing had come about and how he might be able to make this less likely to happen again in the future. He strode off, determined that his efforts would make a difference to fish of the future. A short while later the second man walked by the same, increasingly shallower, pool of water. He also was shocked to see so many fish now gasping for the oxygen that they could not get. Quickly he went over the the pool and, after wetting his hands, he carefully lifted a fish up and carried it over to the sea where he let it swim away in the oxygen rich water. The man repeated this action as fast as he could with all the other fish in the pool, some of which were close to death it seemed. Finally he placed the last fish into the sea and was able to rest, satisfied that at least he had been able to help the fish continue to flourish for some time more in the ocean.
